Capt. Bill Pike
Capt. Bill Pike is a Great Lakes Pilot with an Unlimited Tonnage rating, a 3,000-ton open-oceans captain, and a former daily newspaper reporter. He has worked for marine magazines since 1988 and, over the past 30-some years, owned and lived aboard a variety of recreational vessels, both power and sail. He served as a combat medic in the U.S. Army in Vietnam in 1969.
