Sea Vee Boats has started production on the all-new 400Z center console.

The 400Z features a stepped hull design to significantly enhance efficiency and handling. Born of offshore racing technology, the 400Z twin stepped hull has been optimized to achieve the highest performance possible.

Built using vacuum assisted resin transfer Infusion (VARTM) the unibody construction results in reduced VOC emissions, and a robust, lighter, higher quality laminate. Improved directional stability is achieved through an array of speed rails. This Sea Vee patented design produces the appropriate counterforce to hard maneuvering that could otherwise cause a conventional stepped hull boat to hook, or lose control.

The newly developed and roomier console is 6 inches wider than the 390 series console with a raised helm pod. The helm pod can be finished in a variety of finishes including carbon fiber and teak. Up to 18 rod holders can be mounted on the sides of the console keeping rods out of the way and safely stowed yet immediately available.

The Sea Vee 400Z will replace the 390 series. The 400Z offers multiple seating options and triple or quad outboard power. The builder says the center console can handle "virtually any amount of horsepower."

The console can accommodate twin 24-inch multi-function displays (MFD) that can be dash-mounted with a black background for a more integrated look. The forward side sliding door with integrated console seat is opened and closed manually or with the touch of a button thanks to a newly developed electric actuator making for effortless entry and exit of the console’s interior. The interior is equipped with a molded sink and can be left as is to maximize storage space or enhanced with an electrically operated toilet. Frameless interior access doors, with no exposed fasteners for the electrical panel and electronics compartment, complement the clean, and modern look inside the spacious console.

The Captain’s Edition helm seat and tackle center provides ample storage and seating. The aft-facing tackle station helps keep tackle neat and organized. And when it’s time to set up for fishing, the convenient drop-down table facilitates rigging. Aft seating includes a removable transom bench seat, rear-facing molded cooler seat, and the optional second row seating.

With a variety of hardtop and tower options, the 400Z is designed to maximize fishing and comfort. Offered with a standard or oversized fiberglass hardtop rigged with anodized or powder-coated aluminum frames. Sight fishing, and the view to the horizon, are substantially enhanced with an optional Marlin, Sailfish, or Gap Tower for the ultimate 360-degree view.

The spacious cockpit features 40 gal. corner live wells port and starboard. This design allows the interior transom bulkhead to be pushed further aft gaining additional cockpit space while improving access to the bilge. Port and starboard 100 gal. insulated in-deck fish boxes offer tons of space for the day's catch. A large 40-inch x 36-inch centerline storage compartment houses the SeaKeeper stabilizing system, or an optional in-deck live well. The live well pump system, equipped with a sea chest and dual water pickups, keeps bait alive and healthy by virtually eliminating the aeration problem often found with stepped hull boats. A dedicated transducer pad allows for flush-mounting transducers that are capable of marking bottom in very deep water while underway. A hull-side door to port helps make hauling in big fish a simple task, and the built-in dive ladder makes going in and out of the water easy and safe.

The centerpiece at the bow is the large 161 gal. fully insulated fish box to store fish, gear or provisions. Port and starboard rod lockers allow for ample below deck lockable storage. A coffin box upgrade is available to further increase the insulated storage capacity of the vessel. The 71 gal. dry storage compartment immediately aft of the fish box can be upgraded to a live well to serve the forward area of the boat. A large anchor locker features a convenient storage compartment for lines and fenders with the option to incorporate a windlass / integrated roller anchor system.

Forward fresh and saltwater hose coils, neatly stored in molded recesses, make easy cleaning of the foredeck without the need to stretch the aft coiled hoses all the way forward. Optional port and starboard twin bow loungers, with electrically operated backrests, significantly increases the bow seating capacity without impeding walkup access to the anchor well. The interior storage area of each lounger is conveniently accessed by simply pulling the lever that releases the fiberglass hatch with the integrated seat cushion.

Rod and tackle storage abound throughout; owners can order a seemingly limitless amount of rod holders on the gunnel, console, hardtop, tower, transom and nearly anywhere else. Port and starboard cockpit fresh and saltwater washdown systems help to keep the boat tidy and the tackle clean.

Onboard entertainment options include satellite television, Starlink internet service, and premium sound systems.

The 400Z can be rigged in a triple or quad outboard engine configurations and accommodate "virtually any amount of horsepower," according to Sea Vee. Optional bow thruster and joystick control system further enhances maneuverability for docking.

The 400Z fits right in line with other Sea Vee vessels. It promises to be a hardcore fishing boat with yacht-caliber fit and finish. "The 400Z is a manifestation of new technologies, engineering, production, and equipment each mastered by 50 years of recreational boat building experience," the company says. "Employing only the very best materials and production techniques can be good enough when building a boat worthy of succeeding the legendary 390 series."

Sea Vee will cease taking new orders for the 390 series; however, the 390 will remain in production to fill existing orders
